Kurt
Andersen's latest novel, Heyday, was published in 2007 by Random House and is a New York Times bestseller.
Published by Miramax Books in 2006, Spy: The Funny Years is a history and anthology of Spy magazine that Andersen produced along with Graydon Carter and George Kalogerakis.
His first novel, Turn of the Century, was named a Notable Book of 1999. The New York Times called it "wickedly satirical" and
"outrageously funny" and "the most un-cliched novel
imaginable." The Wall
Street Journal called it a "smart, funny and excruciatingly deft portrait
of our age."
Andersen is also
host of Studio 360, the award-winning weekly cultural program broadcast
on 120 public radio stations. He was co-founder of Inside.com, co-founder
and editor of Spy magazine, and editor in chief of New York magazine.
He was a columnist for The New Yorker, and Time's architecture and
design critic. He has also created and produced network television
programs, and co-wrote Loose Lips, a satirical off-Broadway revue that
has had productions in New York and Los Angeles. Andersen lives with
his wife and daughters in New York City.
